Metamorphic Technique Self-Session Script
Setting Up: Choose a quiet, comfortable place. Sit upright with good back support (or lie down if that’s more relaxing). Ensure you can easily reach your feet, hands, and head. Remove shoes/socks and any restrictive clothing. Take a few slow, deep breaths to settle in, adopting a calm, neutral awareness of your body. The Metamorphosis Technique is a gentle touch method on the feet, hands, and head so maintain a relaxed, non-directive attitude – you are a catalyst, simply allowing your own inner energy to flow
Feet (Spinal Reflex Zone)
Place one foot on your opposite thigh or a chair so you can reach it easily. Using a hand or your thumb, gently stroke along the inside arch of your foot (from the big toe down to the heel). This inner curve is the spinal reflex zone The touch should be very light and unhurried – there’s no need to press hard. Simply breathe and notice any sensations or thoughts that arise, without trying to “fix” anything Continue this gentle touch for about 15–20 minutes on each foot, then switch to the other foot. When you finish each foot, you can briefly hold the foot in both hands (still lightly) to signify the end of that phase.
Duration: ~15–20 minutes per foot
Posture: Seated, one foot on lap or footstool; back supported.
Hands (Spinal Reflex Zone)
Next, rest one hand palm-up on your lap or a small cushion. Focus on the inner edge of your hand (thumb side), which corresponds to the spine reflex on the hand. Gently press or stroke from the base of the thumb up along the side of the palm and thumb. Keep your touch soft and rhythmic. Again, simply observe any subtle sensations or relaxed feelings– do not push for results. After a few minutes, switch to the other hand. Spend about 5 minutes on each hand then lightly hold both hands together or rest them for a moment.
Duration: ~5 minutes per hand
Posture: Hands palm-up, supported on lap or cushion; shoulders relaxed.
Head (Spinal Reflex Zone)
Lightly support your head (either resting back against a pillow or leaning back on a chair). With your fingers, gently touch the base of the skull and the crown of the head. These head points also reflect the spine (and understanding. You can use soft, circular motions or gentle pats on these points. Continue this light touch for about 10 minutes, keeping your mind open but passive. Breathe slowly and allow any remaining tension to ease. (If you like, you can also lightly massage your scalp or the temples, but keep it very gentle.)
Duration: ~10 minutes
Posture: Sit back or lie down with head fully supported; eyes closed or softly gazing.
Closing the Session
When you’ve completed the feet, hands, and head, take a few more deep, relaxing breaths. Sit quietly for a moment and notice how you feel. There’s no “goal” – the practice is simply to allow your life force to realign and release stuck energy. You may feel more calm, grounded, or spacious inside. You can end by stretching gently or writing a brief note about any impressions. The Metamorphosis Technique is a safe, non-invasive approach to self-healing, suitable for all ages.
